The Belfast Opera

World Premiere

Written and composed by Glenn Patterson and Neil Martin, the world premiere of “Long Story Short: The Belfast Opera” will be in June 2016. Three performances in Carlisle Memorial Church on June 18th and 19th will introduce this exciting new work to the world.

A mysterious man turns up in a Belfast call centre. He has a box with him and a story to tell, if only he was granted the time to tell it.

Drawing on workshops conducted across the city in the spring and summer of 2015, ‘The Belfast Opera’ is a meditation on what Belfast has been, is today and might be tomorrow.
